Zorro to the rescue as Shakhtar boss celebrates slaying City

NOT one to go back on his word, Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paulo Fonseca stunned the media as he kept his promise of dressing up in the Mask of Zorro if his side made it through to the last 16 of the Champions League.

The Ukrainian side inflicted Manchester City’s first defeat in 29 matches to secure their place in the last 16 as Group F runners-up behind Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Portuguese turned up at his post-match news conference wearing a cape, mask and hat as he emulated the fictional vigilante.

‘This is the most joyful press conference of my career,’ said Fonseca, who was recently linked with the Everton job.

‘I feel great joy. I think not only Shakhtar’s supporters but all Ukrainians have to be proud of our team.’
