NIGEL FARAGE has congratulated Michel Barnier on winning the Brexit negotiations ‘game, set and match’.
The former Ukip leader told the EU’s chief negotiator he would have liked to see him bat for Britain instead, as the Frenchman briefed MEPs at the European Parliament yesterday.
‘It is a good deal for the European Union,’ Mr Farage told the meeting.
‘For the UK, I think it is probably the worst deal in history. You probably can’t believe your luck you came up against a prime minister who met every single demand of yours.’
But he warned Mr Barnier to be ready for more talks when MPs reject the deal next month and said there was still a ‘strong chance’ of no deal.
