White Widow Brit jihadi ‘killed in air strike by US drone’

Punk rocker: Sally Jones

A BRITISH jihadi bride known as the White Widow has been killed in a US drone strike, it was claimed last night.

Former punk rocker Sally Jones, 50, from Kent, is said to have died in a targeted attack near the northern Syrian city of Raqqa.

The world’s most wanted female terrorist has been linked to at least 12 terror plots after fleeing Britain to fight for Daesh in Syria.

It was claimed in July that Jones wanted to return from Syria to the UK but was being blocked from doing so by her 12-year-old son Jo-Jo who had been ‘brainwashed’.

However, she — and possibly her son — were actually killed in June during an air-strike by a US Air Force Predator, The Sun reported. It quoted a Whitehall source as saying: ‘The Americans zapped her trying to get away from Raqqa. Quite frankly, it’s good riddance.’

Jones fled to fight for Daesh four years ago, along with her son. The boy — called ‘Hamza’ by Daesh — is thought to be among children filmed shooting captured Kurdish fighters dead earlier this year.

She first travelled to Syria after leaving her home in Chatham with British husband Junaid Hussain, who spearheaded Daesh’s online radicalisation schemes.

One of her plots, foiled by investigators, would have involved kidnapping and beheading a US soldier. Hussain, 21, was killed in a drone strike on Raqqa in 2015.
