DOES what type of brain you have influence which side of the bed you sleep on?
According to new research, people who sleep on the left side of the bed consider themselves more left-brained and people who sleep on the right think of themselves as more right-brained.
This new statistic emerged in a study of 2,000 Americans, which found that those on the left side are more likely to prefer old music and drama films, whereas right-side-of-the-bed sleepers prefer rock and action flicks.
Left-brain-dominated people are thought to be more organised and systematic, and right-brained more creative and intuitive.
The stats also came out for political affiliation, as left wingers tend to sleep on the left side of the bed, and right wingers on the right.
The survey, conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Slumber Cloud, also revealed right-siders tend to prefer wine over beer, whereas left-siders are the opposite.
According to the results, the top reason Americans sleep where they do is that it’s actually easier for them to get out of bed on that side (40 per cent).
This is followed by their partner preferring the other side (31 per cent), and 25 per cent saying their preferred side has the better view of the TV.
