What a Gal! Gadot rallies pals for celeb singalong of Imagine

WONDER WOMAN actress Gal Gadot has been making good use of her coronavirus quarantine time — by rallying celeb pals to sing an inspirational version of John Lennon’s classic song Imagine.

Gal came down with the virus six days ago and, taking to Instagram today, she explained that the situation had ‘got me feeling philosopical’ because of the universal threat.

The singalong, which included fellow superheroes Natalie Portman (Thor) and Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), was inspired, she said, by watching a video of an Italian trumpeter playing to his isolated neighbours from his balcony.

The song he picked was Imagine, which includes the lyrics ‘I hope some day you’ll join us / And the world will be as one’, and Gal said she wanted to do something similarly ‘powerful and pure’.

So she roped in pals from across the entertainment spectrum — including Will Ferrell, Amy Adams, Kristen Wiig, Jamie Dornan, Chris O’Dowd and wife Dawn O’Porter, Sarah Silverman, Jimmy Fallon, James Marsden, Eddie Benjamin, Maya Rudolph, Zoe Kravitz, Leslie Odom Jr, Ashley Benson, Norah Jones, Sia and Cara Delevingne — to create their own version of Lennon’s 1971 classic.

Most impressive of all, as the stars took a line each, is that they stayed in tune.

Gal captioned the post: ‘We are in this together, we will get through it together. Let’s imagine together. Sing with us. All love to you, from me and my dear friends.’

The video soon went viral and was one of the top trending topics on Twitter in the US.

Gal has previously urged fans to stay indoors during the outbreak, saying, ‘staying at home is my super power — and yours’.

She recently finished filming Wonder Woman 1984, which has a release date of June 5 but this could be postponed due to lockdown measures.
