Water relief… Michael Gove calms supply fears

TAP water will be completely safe to drink if there is a no-deal Brexit, Michael Gove reassured MPs yesterday.

Britain relies on chemicals imported from the EU to treat supplies, the environment secretary (pictured) confirmed.

But he said most arrive at Immingham in Lincolnshire, rather than Dover, where there are fears of huge delays if customs checks have to resume in March.

‘I have talked to the water companies, and I have been talking to the regulator, to make sure that the chemicals can be sourced,’ he added.
