DONALD TRUMP says he and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un ‘fell in love’ after a tough-talking start.
The US president told a campaign rally in West Virginia on Saturday night that Mr Kim ‘wrote me beautiful letters and they’re great letters. We fell in love’.
He joked the remarks might be seen as ‘unpresidential’ for being so positive about the North Korean leader.
But he went on: ‘We were going to war with North Korea. Millions of people would have been killed. Now we have this great relationship.’ North Korea’s top diplomat Ri Yong-ho, however, had earlier told the UN that denuclearisation negotiations had stalled and the US is continuing sanctions.
