THE boyfriend of Love Island star Sophie Gradon has been found dead just days after her funeral.
Aaron Armstrong, 25, had been left devastated after the death of the 32-year-old reality TV star three weeks ago.
Yesterday his body was discovered at a house in Blyth, Northumberland.
A police spokesman said: ‘There is not believed to be any third party involvement and a report will now be prepared for the coroner.’
Shortly before his death, Mr Armstrong had posted an Instagram tribute to Ms Gradon. Next to a picture of her, he wrote ‘just wish I could cuddle you all day’.
He continued: ‘[I] miss you so much man. Sophie, not a minute goes by without your gorgeous smile being a picture in my mind. Every day we spent together was so amazing. I need them days back. I love you princess.’
At the time of her death, he wrote: ‘I will never forget that smile. I love you so so much baby you’re my world forever ever and always.’
Friends yesterday took to social media to pay tribute to him as news of his death spread. Michael McCready posted on Facebook: ‘Very sad day today to find out that Aaron Armstrong has passed away. RIP pal. You’re now with Sophie, sending my love and thoughts to all family and friends at this hard time.’
Ms Gradon, who was crowned Miss Great Britain in 2009, appeared in the second series of Love Island two years ago.
She was found dead on June 20 at her parents’ home in Ponteland, Northumberland.
A week before, after attending the funeral of her friend, nightclub owner Paul Burns, 37, she tweeted: ‘I feel very deep tonight. Reflecting on life and what it means to live.’
Love Island presenter Caroline Flack called her death ‘so very sad’, describing her as a ‘beautiful soul’.
On the show, Ms Gradon coupled up with Tom Powell, but hit headlines when she began a relationship with fellow contestant Katie Salmon.
Zara Holland, who also appeared in the 2016 dating show, posted the order of service from Ms Gradon’s funeral last Thursday on Instagram. She said it was a ‘beautiful private service’.
The current Love Island series is being shown on week nights on ITV2.
