SIX tourists were taken to hospital and 30 more needed treatment at the scene after fire swept through a hotel in Majorca.
Around 600 guests had to flee from the three-star Hotel whala!beach in Playa de Palma when a blaze broke out in a first floor room just after 5am yesterday.
Five of the people taken to hospital were suffering from smoke inhalation and one was treated for burns, said a regional emergency services co-ordination centre spokesman.
A firefighter is understood to have been treated for heat exhaustion.
All six floors were cleared at the hotel, which is in an area most popular with Germans but has received good online reviews from British families.
