Tony Blair: PM heading for a brick wall at speed

FORMER prime minister Tony Blair has said Theresa May should call off the vote on her Brexit plan next week rather than go down to a heavy defeat.

The ex-Labour leader warned the PM will ‘hit a brick wall at speed’ on Tuesday and she should instead play the role of ‘facilitator’ to find a compromise.

However, speaking at a Westminster lunch, Mr Blair predicted parliament would not find an option commanding a majority in the Commons.

He said his ‘solution’ of calling a second referendum at this point would become ‘more acceptable’.
