The best things come to dogs who wait

THESE working dogs show remarkable restraint before eagerly gorging on some treats.

The obedient hounds in this newly released video are all Kelpies — a breed popular with farmers in Australia who often use them as sheepdogs.

The Beloka Kelpie Stud farm specialises in training these dogs and educating their owners.

In the video, the farm highlighted what thorough training can achieve by having a pack of them sit in the back of a pick-up truck and leaving a line of food in front of them.

The handler, Paul MacPhail, had the dogs wait for several agonising seconds before giving them the go-ahead to launch at their treats.

‘This is just a fun exercise and not our normal feeding routine,’ Mr MacPhail explained. ‘All these dogs have had their morning breakfast before we filmed this.’
