The 666devil forced 46 victims to perform degrading acts

Secrets: Falder was outgoing and popular PICS: SWNS/CATERS/UNIVERSAL

A PAEDOPHILE blackmailer who forced victims to perform degrading acts such as eating dog food naked was jailed for 32 years yesterday after admitting 137 offences.

Dr Matthew Falder tricked his online victims into sending him revealing photos of themselves by posing as a depressed female artist who wanted to paint nudes as part of her therapy.

The Cambridge university graduate, who used the name 666devil on a twisted website, would threaten to share the images unless the victims went along with his sick demands.

Weapon of misery: The computer in the pervert’s flat

The 29-year-old made one girl of 15 film herself stripping off and licking a toilet bowl at her school.

And he told a 15-year-old in foster care that her brother would be removed from her unless she posed with a sign reading: ‘I look after my disabled brother, now I am forced to strip.’

Sentencing him, Judge Philip Parker QC said: ‘Time and time again, people pleaded with you to stop.

Sadist: Falder’s bedroom. His girlfriend knew nothing

‘Time and time again, you ramped up the pressure. You had a relentless and obsessive desire to continue in your offences.

‘Your love of blackmail and being in control is clear and deep seated.’

Falder, a geophysics research fellow at Birmingham university, began offending while at Cambridge in 2007 by hiding spy cameras in his friends’ bathrooms to film them naked.

He went on to blackmail 46 men, women and children online over the course of a decade.

Posing as the artist, he approached youngsters offering services such as babysitting on websites including Gumtree, promising them money for photos that was never paid.

The degrading images he obtained, including of victims putting clothes pegs on their nipples, were shared on ‘hurtcore’ websites. Four victims were driven to the brink of suicide after he threatened to share images of them with their family or classmates.

In another case he told a girl of 14 he met on an anorexia forum that he was her boyfriend — but confided to another web user: ‘I’m not sure I care if she lives or dies.’ Birmingham crown court also heard Falder encouraged an American serviceman to abuse his two-year-old son.

He asked him to use a knife to make photos of it ‘extra scary’ — and sent him vile images afterwards in a swap deal. US officers are investigating.

Highly intelligent Falder, known to friends as the life and soul of the party, hid his offences by using sophisticated techniques to prevent messages being traced to him. He was caught after the National Crime Agency linked him to a website dubbed ‘the worst in the world’ by investigators.

After seizing his computers, investigators found footage of him setting up spy cameras. When they listed the charges as they arrested him in his office, he said: ‘It sounds like the rap sheet from hell.’

The offences he admitted included inciting the sexual exploitation of a child, encouraging rape, voyeurism and blackmail.

Falder hid his offending from his girlfriend, who is standing by him.
