HORRIFYING footage shows the moment a gunman opened fire at a house during a drive-by shooting as the homeowner dived inside to avoid a hail of bullets.
Dramatic CCTV captured two loud shotgun blasts ringing out and smoke pouring from the front of the property following the terrifying attack in Bordesley Green, Birmingham.
The gunman can be seen leaning from the window of a car with the deadly firearm before unleashing the bullets just after midnight on October 15.
Two neighbours had been talking on the doorstep of their homes as the vehicle approached — before they both rush indoors at the last second to avoid the gunshots.
Just an hour earlier, three hooded yobs had pulled up in a different car before smashing the front windows of the same house using baseball bats.
Residents believe they caused the damage in order to lure the homeowner out into the street before gangsters carried out the targeted attack.
One neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said: ‘I live a bit further along the road so I didn’t see what happened but it’s getting worse around here.
‘Apparently, some lads came and smashed up the front of the house to lure the bloke out so they could shoot him.
‘It’s very scary, people are driving around here with guns.’
West Midlands police said they were called after shots were fired at two properties in the area within the space of half an hour.
A force spokeswoman said: ‘We were initially alerted to a shooting in Yardley Green Road shortly before midnight.
‘We were then called 30 minutes later to Churchill Road to reports of a second shooting.
‘Fortunately, no one was injured in either of these shootings, but there was damage to both properties.
‘Although the location for both these shootings are in close proximity, we are currently keeping an open mind as to whether they are linked.’
The terrifying footage was obtained by website Birmz Is Grime and has been viewed thousands of times since being uploaded to social media.
Resident Tom Layton wrote: ‘Somebody got on the wrong side of some bad people. That is madness. What is happening in this city?’
Brian Collins added: ‘This is something from the ghettos of LA — not something I expect to see in my city. Frightening.’
Kal Edwards said: ‘That is one lucky escape. He steps inside literally a second before those gunshots ring out.’
