MOST kids his age spend every spare moment playing video games or glued to YouTube.
But talented teenager Billy Walden used his time to transform an old canal boat into a luxury holiday home for his mum Jayne and 11-year-old sister Matilda.

The boat was picked up by Jayne, 47, to give him something to do — after he had already renovated a motorhome.
Billy, 18, of Bentham, in North Yorkshire, said: ‘After I’d previously renovated a campervan, I wanted to do something bigger and better, and my mum just happened to come across the boat.’

It should have cost £12,000 but Jayne got it for £5,000 because it was in such a state. Just eight weeks and £2,800 later, Billy had finished the project.

He said: ‘It took a lot of hard work as it needed completely restructuring. There’s rooms for both Matilda and I, a bath, open-plan glass doors that lead on to the deck and even car seats I bought from a local scrapyard.’
