Taking the p***? Brussels is awash with British tributes

THE best-known landmark in Brussels was masquerading as John Bull to mark the UK leaving the EU.

Manneken Pis, a bronze sculpture of a naked boy urinating into a fountain, was clad in a Union Flag waistcoat, top hat and cane on Wednesday as MEPs approved the Brexit deal. The boy, a replica of the 1619 original, is given new costumes several times a year on special occasions.

The city’s main square, the Grand Place, was last night lit up with the colours of the Union Flag and full of British sights — including a grenadier guardsman, a black cab and a red phone box.
