A FORMER electrician has been branded ‘the neighbour from hell’ after he transformed his £750,000 suburban home into a shrine to Extinction Rebellion.
Paul Barrett has adorned his front garden with a flag spelling out ‘rebellion’ in plastic bottles and a 12ft figure made from egg boxes, milk cartons and bottles of squash.
He has also dug a 15ft-deep tunnel and piled a mound of earth outside his house in Carshalton, south London.
A broken fridge has been turned into a ‘letterbox’ while roof tiles, rocks and bricks have been painted bright colours.
A neighbour said: ‘It’s awful to look at and just brings down the whole area. So many people, many of them undesirable, are hanging round the house.’
