Staying faithful can be a lot of work, admits Johansson

SCARLETT JOHANSSON shed some light on her marriage riddle when she revealed she has tried being faithful, but thinks monogamy is ‘a lot of work’.

The 32-year-old shared her take on open relationships and cheating amid unconfirmed rumours that her second marriage, to Frenchman Romain Dauriac, 35, has crumbled after two years.

‘I think the idea of marriage is very romantic; it’s a beautiful idea, and the practice of it can be a very beautiful thing,’ said the Lost In Translation star. However, she was quick to point out: ‘I don’t think it’s natural to be a monogamous person. I might be skewered for that, but I think it’s work. It’s a lot of work.’

The ex-Mrs Ryan Reynolds said she has ‘participated’ in trying to remain committed. ‘It’s something I have a lot of respect for and have participated in,’ she added. ‘But I think it goes against some instinct to look beyond.’
