SANTA made an early appearance in the sky over Cambridgeshire — then caused gridlock on the road.
The giant inflatable Father Christmas escaped its moorings and floated over the B198 Cromwell Road in Wisbech, blocking it in both directions for three hours on Tuesday.
Taxi driver Muhammad Fareed, from Peterborough, told the BBC: ‘I saw it wobble and then come down on to the road — it did raise a smile. It was massive — bigger than my seven-seater car.
‘It was one of the more unusual reasons to be stuck in traffic.’
