A LONDON landmark got its mojo back yesterday when the electronic billboard at Piccadilly Circus lit up after nine months of darkness.

The original patchwork of illuminated boards has been replaced with one single enormous digital smart screen.

It will use hi-tech cameras to tailor ads to passers-by and even the weather as well as providing free wi-fi.

Owners Landsec said the technology did not collect or store any personal data and could not recognise individuals.

A display sponsored by the public as part of a fundraising campaign for the charity Barnardo’s provided the first images to appear on the new screen.
