Sir Billy Connolly: Career may be over but I’m happy

COMEDIAN Sir Billy Connolly says he feels ‘happy in his skin’ after making the ‘obvious’ decision to retire due to his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis.

The 78-year-old (pictured) found he had the neurological condition in 2013 and halted live performances five years later.

Interviewed for a new TV documentary about him, the Scottish star said: ‘I had a nice career, I did rather well, and I got knighted and that’s like the full stop.’

Billy Connolly: It’s Been A Pleasure airs on ITV on Monday.
