Sinking feeling: Footage shows why you shouldn’t try to drive through floodwater

THIS drone video shows exactly what happens when you try to drive through floodwater, resulting in two men having to help push a vehicle to safety.

Dave Cundy, 46, flew his drone up over the fields and roads of Sileby in Leicestershire to take a look at the devastation caused by recent flooding in the area when he spotted the car.

He said he followed the motor as it drove through two sections of floods, before it got stuck in the middle of a third.

The car came to a standstill as water rose around it, forcing the driver to ask for help from bystanders to push it to dry land.

The Environment Agency has warned drivers not to drive through flooded sections of road and said just 30cm of water could float a family car.

Dave, a photographer and IT worker from Sileby said: ‘I saw them go through some flooded patches already and I thought “I’ll see how they get on”.’

Not too well, as you can see…
