A WRECKED campervan lies on its roof on a beach after it was blown over during freak storms in Greece, killing an elderly couple.

The pair, from the Czech Republic, were among seven people who died after high winds, heavy rain and hail suddenly struck the northern Halkidiki region — popular with British tourists — on Wednesday night.

A Romanian woman and her eight-year-old son were killed when an outdoor restaurant’s roof collapsed.

Meanwhile, a Russian man and his two-year-old son died after being hit by falling trees and a 62-year-old fisherman is missing, feared dead. Greek authorities have declared a state of emergency.
