Ron is buzzing that strangers can bee so kind after arson

KIND strangers have raised more than £16,000 to help a beekeeper after rare hives were destroyed in an arson attack.

A fire at Ron Hoskin’s apiary, in Swindon, caused £30,000 of damage and the 88-year-old, who has spent 24 years breeding a variety of ‘super bee’ able to protect itself from deadly varroa mites — said Monday’s attack made him wonder if he ‘should bother anymore’.

But a GoFundMe page has been flooded with donations, said son Dave, 64. ‘It’s lifted him so much. People are worried about their jobs and money (due to Covid-19) but it’s come in from all over the world. It’s crazy,’ he added.
