ENGLAND scrum-half Richard Wigglesworth has extended his Saracens contract for another year.
The 35-year-old became the all-time Premiership appearance holder in September and will now remain at Allianz Park until the summer of 2020.
‘I’ve been lucky enough to have been part of the club for nine years and I don’t think there’s too many people who have wanted to leave, and there’s a lot of people who have wanted to come,’ said Wigglesworth.
‘I’ve enjoyed a lot of success here and I’m not interested in finishing at the moment.’
Wigglesworth made his England debut in 2008 and joined Saracens from Sale Sharks two years later. He has made more than 200 appearances, winning three Premiership titles and two European Cups.
Wigglesworth was recalled to the England squad this year and has now won 33 caps.
Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall said: ‘He’s understood the need to look after his body and nobody is more diligent when it comes to that side of things. It says something about his determination and competitiveness that at his age he’s forced his way back into the England reckoning.
‘It’s an incredible achievement and great for us to keep him on for another year.’
