PHIL FODEN sees Raheem Sterling as the perfect role model as he tries to establish himself at Manchester City.
The highly-rated midfielder is still finding his opportunities limited but played all of City’s 3-0 Carabao Cup win at Preston on Tuesday.
Sterling, who was rested for last weekend’s Premier League thrashing of Watford, opened the scoring with a fine solo effort. Foden, 19, said: ‘Every time I watch Raheem, I think “wow”.
‘He just glides past players and gets in the right places to score goals.
‘He is a role model and he helps me out a lot, in the game and in training, and overall. That is what a young lad needs coming through.
‘Any time I get game time is important. I just try and enjoy it.’
