AN ABANDONED kitten has been inundated with offers of a new home due to its uncanny resemblance to the famous fictional detective Hercule Poirot.
Four-month-old Tasha’s black and white fur gives her the appearance of having a distinctive handlebar moustache — the trademark of Agatha Christie’s Belgian sleuth.
The moggy was taken in by the RSPCA’s Birmingham Animal Centre after she was found wandering the streets with an injury to her eye.
And the feline doppelganger has been in high demand after Murder On The Orient Express was released in cinemas, starring Kenneth Branagh as the super sleuth.
Emma Finnimore, cattery supervisor at the centre, said: ‘We don’t get many cats in with these sort of markings, so Tasha is certainly very special.
‘Now that she has relaxed she likes to play a lot and is curious about any moving object — she certainly likes to investigate, just like her detective doppelganger.’
