A BURGLAR who ransacks multi-million-pound houses in one of Britain’s richest neighbourhoods is being hunted by police.
The thief, dubbed the ‘Posh Prowler’, has broken into homes in London’s Kensington and Holland Park while children slept, and snatched £270,000 worth of valuables, including jewellery and designer handbags.
Notting Hill DC Eve Kelly said: ‘On one occasion he ransacked a property while the family, including two young children, were in the house.
‘Another time he was seen on camera creeping around while children and a nanny were hiding in the bathroom.’
Met police believe the man has struck five times — three times when people were at home — and could be a scaffolder or a builder.
During one theft he climbed into a bedroom window of a four-storey house while the family were downstairs having dinner.
He is described as white, aged 20 to 40, with a shaven head.
