A NEWSPAPER publisher and son of an ex-KGB spy reportedly wants to have ‘Moscow’ in his title after being given a peerage by his friend Boris Johnson.
Evgeny Lebedev, owner of London’s Evening Standard, has asked for the Russian capital to be the ‘territorial designation’ that is needed for him to join the Lords, according to The Mail On Sunday. The Kremlin would have to give its approval.
Mr Lebedev, whose father is billionaire businessman Alexander Lebedev, has denied any links to Russian president Vladimir Putin.
He said last year: ‘I have never met Vladimir Putin. I have never given a penny to a political party.’
