Oldest skydiver, 94, glosses over her feat of bravery

A SKYDIVER who braved a 15,000ft jump at the age of 94 said it was ‘better than watching paint dry’.

Adeline Franken is believed to have become Britain’s oldest female parachutist after taking on the challenge to raise money for the RNLI.

Strapped to an instructor, she was in freefall for two miles at 120mph before the chute opened to bring them gracefully in to land at Cark Airfield in Cumbria.

But the pensioner, who lives in a care home in Silverdale, Lancashire, said: ‘There is nothing to it really, you just move towards the edge of the plane and kind of flop out.’
