SPORTS broadcaster Andrew Cotter and his dogs Mabel and Olive have become surprise viral hits during lockdown.
The familiar voice to rugby and golf fans has provided hilarious commentaries to clips of his dogs Olive and Mabel (pictured above) as though they were elite athletes. Now renowned lyricist Sir Tim Rice has penned a unique tribute song to the trio — as if sung by the canines themselves.
Based on Don’t Cry for Me Argentina, from his musical Evita, Rice tweeted some verses which included: ‘Don’t cry for us Mr Cotter. The truth is we really love you. But there’s a limit to this existence. Just one more movie. And then resistance.’
■ MARIO BALOTELLI turned up at Brescia’s gates yesterday — despite reportedly being fired last weekend for failing to attend training — only to be turned away at the club gates, reportedly because his medical certificate is not valid until tomorrow. The former Italy striker then told the media: ‘Now say I don’t want to train.’ Balotelli had blamed stomach problems for not turning up last week.
