IRAN’S supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said ‘there will be no talks with the US at any level’ — ending speculation about a possible meeting between the two countries’ presidents at the UN later this month.

There had been reports that Donald Trump might hold talks with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani in New York.

Tensions in the Gulf have escalated after drone attacks on major oil sites in Saudi Arabia. On Monday, Mr Trump said it ‘looks’ like Iran was behind them.
