A DEAL to export double-decker buses to Mexico demonstrates the UK is ‘a great, global trading nation’, Theresa May said yesterday.

The prime minister visited Guildford-based manufacturer Alexander Dennis, which has secured a £44million finance deal to sell buses to reduce congestion and pollution in Mexico City. It was part of a £1.7billion package that has helped 137 firms.

Mrs May said: ‘From exporting iconic red double-decker buses to Mexico, cutting-edge MRI systems to Australia or rail equipment to Bangkok, each one is an example of a great British success story.’
