NELSON MANDELA’S widow Graca Machel declared she could ‘feel the vibe’ after meeting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in South Africa and insisted she was ‘sure’ they would work together in the future.
Prince Harry, who last met Ms Machel in London earlier this year, introduced her to 38-year-old Meghan in Johannesburg yesterday, the last day of their visit to Africa.
Meghan talked to the 73-year-old humanitarian [pictured with the couple] about remaining in South Africa while her husband travelled further afield to countries such as Botswana and Malawi, saying: ‘I’ve been holding things down on this side.’ Harry, 35, admitted: ‘I’ve done five or six countries in the past nine days.’
He also vowed to bring up his baby son Archie with the ‘value of community and friendship’ which he said he had learned during his ten-day tour.
Meanwhile, The Mail On Sunday said it would be vigorously defending itself after the royal pair launched legal action against the newspaper in a row over the publication of a letter from Meghan to her father.
A spokesman said: ‘The Mail On Sunday stands by the story it published and will be defending this case vigorously.
‘Specifically, we categorically deny that the duchess’s letter was edited in any way that changed its meaning.’
