A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the bodies of a woman and two children were found at a flat where John Lennon once lived.
The unnamed 30-year-old man was held when police were called to the ground-floor flat in Toxteth, Liverpool, on Tuesday.
One neighbour said he saw a man being rushed into an ambulance, adding: ‘I heard screams — it was screams that make you sit up and go outside to see what’s going on. They were female screams and it was continuous. It was a scream like no other.’
The arrested man is said to be in a stable condition in hospital. Police believe the incident is ‘domestic related’ and are not looking for anyone else.
The flat in Falkner Street was once owned by Beatles manager Brian Epstein, and Lennon lived there with first wife Cynthia. Local tour guides who take Beatles fans to the property say Lennon wrote the song Do You Want To Know A Secret there. It reportedly alludes to Epstein’s homosexuality, which was illegal in Britain at the time.
