MOUTHWASH can eradicate coronavirus within 30 seconds of being exposed to it in a laboratory, a study has shown.
Clinical trials will now be held to find out if the dental hygiene products can reduce the levels of Covid in infected people’s saliva and lessen the ‘viral load’ they are carrying.
Mouthwashes with at least 0.07 per cent cetylpyridinium chloride show ‘promising signs’ of being able to combat the virus, the Cardiff university study says. Dr Nick Claydon said using a mouthwash could potentially become a protective tool along with hand-washing.

Hair loss and wrinkles are the most common complaints of people facing their unedited image on camera — a condition dubbed ‘Zoom dysmorphia’. Dr Arianne Shadi Koroush, at Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital, in the US, said: ‘It is important for patients to recognise webcams are, at best, a flawed representation of reality.’
