AN ARMY doctor who assaulted his GP wife during a row after he had helped victims of the Manchester Arena bomb attack has been allowed to keep his job.
Maj David Roscoe, 41, grabbed his wife Louise by the arms and called her a ‘stupid moron’ as they argued about clearing up their dog’s mess.
But a disciplinary tribunal accepted he lost control after a ‘Commando mentality’ led him to repress trauma that built up during six months away from home, rehabilitating children injured in the 2017 terror attack.
During the row in January last year, he pushed Mrs Roscoe, 39, out of their house in Denton, Lincolnshire, while their three children were inside in a playroom. He was later convicted by a court of common assault.
Maj Roscoe, who has also treated Iraq War veterans, was found guilty of serious professional misconduct by the Manchester tribunal but was told no action would be taken against him.
