Miguel Almiron ready to get to work with Magpies

NEWCASTLE’S record signing Miguel Almiron has been given the green light to start work with the Magpies after being awarded a work permit.

The 24-year-old Paraguay international (pictured), who completed a deadline-day move to St James’ Park from Major League Soccer side Atlanta United, had to leave the country while the paperwork was completed and he headed for Paris in the meantime.

The playmaker is understood to have cost the Magpies in the region of £21million after a prolonged January pursuit which went down to the wire.

Almiron could find himself thrown straight into the action when Rafa Benitez’s side travel to Wolves in the Premier League on Monday.
