THEIR marriage captured hearts in the White House — but Michelle Obama says her partnership with former US president Barack isn’t all a bed of roses.
The former first lady, 56, opened up about unhappy spells lasting ‘a long time’ during her 28-year marriage.
‘There were times that I wanted to push Barack out of the window,’ she confessed as she gave relationship tips to podcast listeners. ‘The feelings will be intense. But that doesn’t mean you quit. And these periods can last a long time. They can last years.’
And the mum-of-two argued building a good relationship was like building a basketball team, adding: ‘If you’re on a team, you’ve got to be able to do everything — especially in basketball, you would never pick somebody that says, “I only dribble. I don’t shoot, I don’t defend, I just dribble”.’
