Meet Ms Tank from the bank

YOU may think she works for a (body)building society, but Amelia Tank balances a gruelling fitness routine with her job at a bank.

The communications manager, 26, trains twice a day three times a week and lifts weights every morning.

The 5ft 7in fitness fan is enjoying the fruits of her labours after winning two bodybuilding competitions last month.

She has turned her back on partying with friends and avoids family get-togethers in case she’s tempted to go off track from her strict eating plan. Confused colleagues wondered why Amelia would eat hard-boiled eggs in board meetings — but admire her dedication.

She came top in the bikini tall and Miss Model category at the Miami Pro World Championships then won the bikini babe tall class at the Pure Elite competition in Margate.

‘My social life is at an all-time low while training and most nights I get into bed at 8.30pm to allow my muscles to grow and have enough energy for my early starts before work,’ she said.

‘It has been really tough not going out with friends. Every year my family hosts an Easter party and the first comp was two weeks before but I knew I would be surrounded by food and prosecco.

‘There would be curry, plates of bread, a salad bar. It’s party food I would have had if I didn’t compete.’

Ms Tank, from London, weighs under 9st and consumes 1,900 calories a day. Her diet consists of lean chicken breast, fillet steak, sweet potato, brown rice, fruit, nuts and protein shakes.

She wants to inspire others into spending more time in the gym. ‘When I have a busy day with back-to-back meetings, you go for a session and it’s completely relaxing,’ she said.
