MANUEL PELLEGRINI has challenged West Ham’s remaining forwards to step up to the plate after Marko Arnautovic was ruled out for a month.
The five-goal Austrian’s hamstring injury against Cardiff on Tuesday will keep him out until next month. Arnautovic is one of eight first-team stars on the treatment table, with Andriy Yarmolenko, Jack Wilshere, Manuel Lanzini, Winston Reid and Aaron Cresswell also out. Lucas Perez replaced Arnautovic and scored twice in the 3-1 win over Cardiff while Andy Carroll made a late cameo.
Boss Pellegrini said: ‘We know how important Marko is for our team. We have a squad and it is a chance for another player to demonstrate why they are here. The important thing is when they have the chance, they take the chance.’
