OLE GUNNER SOLSKJAER hailed Anthony Martial after the Frenchman scored a superb hat-trick to help Manchester United to a 3-0 win over Sheffield United.
Martial is the first United player to score a top-flight hat-trick for seven years, and Solskjaer said: ‘I’m very happy for Anthony. It’s just unfortunate that he [couldn’t] celebrate with our fans.
‘The third goal was a great goal but for me the first and the second were better. He is in the box, ready to go. We have worked on that, getting in the box in that situation more often.’
Solskjaer was also delighted with Paul Pogba’s first start since September, saying: ‘He’s quality out there. He settled us. Good decision making, good passing, hard to take the ball off him.’
Victory boosts United’s hopes of a top-four finish. But Solskjaer added: ‘I never said fourth place was our goal. We’d like to have third, and there are two cups.’
