Making a face: Mum brings Disney characters to life

THIS talented Disney fan can transform herself into the cartoon characters from her favourite movies, just by using make up.

Lucy Cook, 25, uses paints, brushes and her face as a canvas to replicate her favourite characters from Lion King, Toy Story, 101 Dalmatians and Snow White.

The stay-at-home mum, from Poole, Dorset, paints the mask-like make up in astonishing detail and posts them online, where fans can’t believe it’s her real face.

Each look takes Lucy between two and four hours to design and then paint, with the help of movie stills to nail each character she recreates.

She said: ‘My love for Disney is what first started me getting into my cartoon-style looks, and made me fall in love with turning myself into my favourite characters.

‘I started painting faces, just small bits and bobs, when I was quite young. I started focusing on it and building my skills properly just before I fell pregnant in 2014. Then I began taking photos and uploading them to my Facebook page in October 2016, not really thinking anything would come of it. I started taking Instagram seriously in May. Before then, I would post ever now and then, but May is when I took the plunge and really went for it.

‘My followers tend to love all the characters and other style looks I create, but the cartoon style characters definitely tend to be a favourite.

‘Currently I’m working on setting up my YouTube channel, which is really exciting.

‘I just love creating my looks, especially my cartoon transformations. I love bending people’s minds when they try to work out where my face is.

‘My friends and family are always extremely supportive of my work. I have the most wonderful followers, who support and encourage me so much.

‘I really am so grateful for them all, and still find it mind-blowing that people love my work as much as they do, to be honest.

‘More than anything, painting really relaxes me. I enjoy it so much, and the fact that other people love it too just means the world to me.

‘My girls are my inspiration, and I want them to know if you work hard enough at a skill or talent you have, you really can make something of yourself.’
