MOTORISTS were stuck in 31-mile queues on the M25 yesterday after a crash left a man fighting for his life.
The road was closed for nearly 12 hours when a truck jackknifed after colliding with a taxi and a Citroen car.
The lorry driver was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The crash, at 5am, caused diesel to spill on the clockwise section from junctions nine to ten, between Leatherhead and Wisley, Surrey.
Some drivers were stranded with no food and water.
Highways England said the road was closed until 5pm because the surface needed to be re-laid after the spillage. The road was shut again overnight for more repairs.
