A DOGGED eco warrior has spent six years collecting 10,000 elastic bands dropped by postal workers and is demanding Royal Mail pay £800,000 in litter fines — £80 for each one.
Paul Brown, 48, began his campaign after seeing posties drop bands on his street in Wallasey, Merseyside. ‘It’s disgusting. They should make it policy that this stops now,’ he said. Royal Mail uses 338 tonnes of bands a year. It urges staff to re-use them and has bio-degradable versions.
