Liverpool’s Mo Salah avoids long lay-off after twisting ankle

MOHAMED SALAH has two weeks to prove his fitness for Liverpool’s trip to Manchester United after sustaining a twisted ankle in Saturday’s late victory over Leicester.

The Egyptian (pictured), who had already been excused international duty to ease his workload, had a scan over the weekend on the injury suffered in a lunge by Hamza Choudhury but the results revealed he escaped serious damage and will continue to receive treatment this week.

Liverpool say it is too early to tell whether he will be fit for the visit to Old Trafford on October 20.
