A TEENAGE girl who died after taking a ‘legal high’ was yesterday named locally as Leah Kerry.
The 15-year-old became unwell early on Saturday after taking the ‘new psychoactive substance’ with friends in a park in Newton Abbott, Devon.
Leah was taken to Torbay district hospital where she died. Two others were admitted but later released.
Detective Supt Ken Lamont said officers were ‘confident’ that people knew where the drugs were from and urged them to come forward.
He said: ‘They’re not legal. They’re illegal, they’re very, very dangerous, probably more dangerous than traditional drugs.’
Among online tributes, one said: ‘Such a waste of a young life.’
