THIS is the moment some men on a stag do saved a trapped turtle after it got tangled in a net.
The men were on an offshore thrill ride off the coast of Curl Curl Beach in Sydney, Australia, when they spotted something flailing around on the surface of the water.
Tour company Ocean Extreme’s captain Blake Horton cruised closer and the group discovered it was a huge turtle snared by a shark net.
A shark net is a submerged wall of netting which hangs in the water around beaches to reduce shark attacks on swimmers.
Mr Horton said two of the party held the turtle still while he cut the net, and the animal swam free after a struggle.
The video shows the huge creature raise it’s head out of the water as it swims away.
Mr Horton said: ‘We were cruising up the coast of Sydney and saw something in the net off Curl Curl Beach.
‘We spotted what looked like a seal on the surface and went to investigate.
‘It turned out to be a turtle stuck in the shark net.
‘We managed to position alongside and two of the boys held the turtle while I found a knife and the proceed to cut the net.
‘He looked pretty stoked to get free.’
