Labour MP Rosena Allin-Khan apologises for ‘queue jump’ claim

Jab row: Allin-Khan

A LABOUR MP has apologised to vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi after suggesting he jumped the queue for the jab.

Shadow health minister Rosena Allin-Khan said she regretted sharing the ‘unsubstantiated claims’ on Twitter.

It came after she demanded an answer to ‘rumours’ that the Stratford-on-Avon Conservative MP (below) and his family had received the vaccine in her Tooting constituency. ‘Nadhim, can you please tell us if it is true?’ Ms Allin-Khan tweeted on Saturday. ‘I really hope it is not unless you meet the necessary criteria.’

Hours later she wrote: ‘I have deleted my earlier tweets which were inappropriate and wrong and I apologise to (the minister) and his family.’ Labour sources indicated she was not expected to face disciplinary action.
