FORMER Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq burst into tears as she spoke at an event calling for a second Brexit referendum.
The campaigner, 43, admitted she ‘couldn’t believe’ she was crying during a passionate speech at the People’s Vote Rally in Church House, Westminster, yesterday.
She told the crowd: ‘I’ve worked with children all my working life. And this (Brexit) will be a betrayal, an unforgivable betrayal.’
Huq was joined by politicians including ex-Commons speaker Baroness Betty Boothroyd, 89, who hit out at Tory Brexiteers plotting to become the next prime minister, saying: ‘I wouldn’t trust them to run my bath, let alone the country.’
