ADAM LALLANA has become increasingly influential for Liverpool on and off the pitch, Jurgen Klopp claims.
The midfielder’s good form has seen him rewarded with a new £110,000-a-week, three-year deal as he enjoys his best season since signing in 2014. Lallana has been inspired by Klopp after his displays under Brendan Rodgers left some questioning the £25million fee paid to Southampton for him.
But it is what he offers the side in addition to his playing skills which has made him a key part of Klopp’s future plans. ‘It was clear we had to try everything to keep him. He is very important for us,’ Klopp said.
‘He has been a really important player for all our development steps.
‘I have time with the players but I am not in the dressing room so you need players there too, and he is one of them.’
